The 5000 series of the Bundesamt für Landestopographie consists of composite maps on a scale of 1:50 000 and so covers a larger area than standard maps to the same scale. The hiking routes are not colour-coded, but all the roads and paths are clearly distinguishable even so. If you visit the same area regularly then this one map is all you need to plan years of enjoyable hikes.
